The difference between nimh battery charger and li ion battery charger in working
Nimh battery charger is used for the nimh rechargerable batteries while li ion battery charger for li ion batteries. But what's the difference of the working principle between nimh battery charger and li ion battery charger?
Ⅰ. Ni MH battery is usually constant current charging, generally the nimh battery charger is long time small current charging (below 300mA), fast charger with large current charge (300-1000mA), detection voltage drop as the cut-off condition of the nimh battery charger will have a bit more advanced battery temperature detection function to control the cutoff. Lithium batteries are usually charged at a constant current and then constant pressure, usually at a constant current charge to 4.2V, and then the 4.2V is charged at a constant voltage until a current is less than a certain value.
Ⅱ. Different voltages, the voltage of the li ion battery is 3.6V (also a lithium iron phosphate battery is 3.0V), the working principle is not the same either, if the li ion battery charger charges the nimh battery, can sweep in 30%, but then will stop charging automatically.
Ⅲ. The charge voltage of the lithium battery and the nimh battery is different. The maximum charge voltage of a single lithium battery (3.6V) is 4.2V, which will cause the lithium battery to overheat or even explode. So use a special li ion battery charger to charge the lithium battery.
