Improper charging of nimh battery will have a serious negative impact on the battery performance. For more effective use of nimh battery, we should pay attention to the following tips when charging.

1, pay attention to the temperature of the charge, this is the most critical factor in all charging process, usually should be specified in the nimh battery manufacturers in the product manual temperature (0~45 DEG C) in charge, below the prescribed temperature will make the internal battery charging innormal, resulting in power recovery performance continued to decline. And in the condition of higher than the specified temperature, the nimh  battery will be hot, which may lead to the leakage of liquid and outflow the yellowish liquid.

2, when the battery is charging at constant current, it will start to avoid trickle charge as far as possible, and the trickle charge mode will affect the battery characteristics from beginning to end, especially the subsequent large current discharge can not be activated. But after the constant current charging, a trickle charge should be set up to replenish the charge to achieve the full activation factor and supplement the power that lost.

3, A single NiMH battery is best to be charged immediately after being used, and not to be charged with other batteries first, because the nimh battery after discharging is easy to cause the battery to discharge over a certain time, resulting in short circuit of the electrode, or permanent damage to the batteries.

4, For battery charging, it is best to choose an intelligent nimh battery charger that can control the charging current and time. If there's no intelligent nimh battery charger,  will controlled by itself (because the ordinary charger does not set the control measures, it is very easy to overcharge).  The first three time charging of a new battery is generally: charging time = ( nimh battery / nimh battery charger charging current) * 1.5, Ni MH battery charging time for daily use: charging time = ( nimh battery / nimh battery charger charging current) * 1.2, For the first three times, the battery factor is fully activated, so the time is longer.

5, Because the monthly discharge rate of ordinary Ni MH battery is 20~30%, so it is best to charge once every three months, the same as the third tips mentioned above, so as not to damage it too much.

6, different brands, different capacity of the battery can not be mixed charging, the nimh battery charger does not match the charging characteristics of the battery can not be recharged.
