Ni MH battery charge is divided into three ways: small current, standard current and high current. 0.1~0.3C charging current as a standard current, less than 0.1C is a small current, larger than 0.3C is a large current. Usually, the charging current can not be greater than 1C.


The advantage of small current charging is to protect the nimh battery with light overcharge, but it does not have much effect on the battery; But the charging time will be long;


The advantage of large current charging is that the charging time is short; the disadvantage is that the continuous large current can damage the battery and affect the service life.


The advantage of the standard charging mode is that the charging circuit is simple and the charging time is a little longer. But this mode has achieved a balance in the design complexity and nimh battery charging time, which has been recognized by the industry.


On the choice of charging mode, nimh battery manufacturers will have their own products, some of them will focus on time, others will pay more attention to the full power level, and also design small current charging from a safety perspective.
