Ten major problems that must be noticed in the charging and discharging process of Ni MH batteries

The following problems that must be noticed in the charging and discharging process of Ni MH batteries.

(1). The charging temperature: The temperature should be at 10~40 C when charging. The ambient temperature affects charging efficiency. When the temperature is 10~30, the charging efficiency is the best; When the ambient temperature is below 0 C, the gas absorption reaction inside the battery is not sufficient, the internal pressure of the battery rises. Activate the safety valve to make the battery leak; When the ambient temperature is higher than 40 degrees, the charging efficiency will decrease. This will also worsen the battery performance.

(2). Parallel charging: When the battery is connected in parallel, the protection measures of the nimh battery charger should be fully considered.

(3). Reverse charging: The charging should be done at H. to avoid reverse pole charging. Reverse pole charging will cause an increase in the internal pressure of the battery. Activate the relief valve. The battery leaks. The performance deteriorates, and the battery will even burst.

(4). Over charge: over charge is for the charged Ni MH battery to continue charging. and it should be avoided. Repeated overcharging will deteriorate battery performance.

(5). Fast charging: Use a specific nimh battery charger to charge quickly in short time.

(6). The trickle charge: Ni MH battery is not suitable for trickle charge. But after fast charging, a 0. 03-0. 05C current can be used for trickle charging.  In order to avoid battery overcharging caused by trickle charging, lead to the battery performance deteriorates. The total time timer should be used.

(7). The discharge temperature: The discharge temperature of discharge should be -10~45 C., and discharge current affects discharge efficiency. The discharge efficiency is the best between discharge current of 0.1~2C.

(8). The discharge temperature below -10 C and higher than 45 C. The discharge capacity will decrease most.

(9). Overdischarge: Due to over discharge will damage battery, when discharging it's better to cut oof the current and do not transport the battery in the equipment at the same time.

(10). High current discharge: high current discharge will reduce heat and discharge efficiency. When the discharge is greater than 2C should be get more understanding for the nimh batteries.
